Frank Levy
Based in New Orleans, Frank is a published writer, lecturer, public speaker, consultant, performer, educator and wine expert. He also directs plays and theatre workshops.
Frank is a 30-year veteran teacher of writing, speech and dramatics from elementary school through to university level, as well as a state-certified evaluator for talented theatre. He has performed his one-man interactive shows across the United States, Canada and in six tours of Australia, beginning with an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in New York when he was 18.
Frank has toured schools, synagogues, corporate gatherings, community centres, churches and festivals with a wide variety of programs for audiences of all ages, including successful interactive theatre projects, workshops, and performances. He has special training in working with large groups who have Post Traumatic Stress and uses his interactive theatre techniques to deliver the message wrapped in entertainment. Frank has gained special recognition from the Red Cross for interactive performances he provided at dozens of shelters after Hurricane Katrina and again for Hurricanes Rita, Gustave and Ike. Frank has also taught theatre at Southeastern Louisiana University, Media Arts at Tulane University and recently performed in a highly acclaimed production of Eugene O'Neill's The Iceman Cometh at the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans. He is listed in Who's Who in Business and Communications and the Louisiana Registry of Performing Artists.
Frank is the founding director of the Playmakers Summer Theater Camps in Covington, Louisiana. The year 2011 will mark Frank's 16th year as the creative force behind the camps.
